The BR 02 (sleeper) sofa is a design classic designed by Martin Visser for Spectrum, recognizable by the round frame with kink at the level of the backrest at the back so that the frame follows the line of the sofa. The sleeping function of the BR 02 sofa is created by lifting the seat forward with a simple movement, causing the seat to lie flat. This siphoning mechanism is clearly visible under the sofa, and consists of a few loose blocks with which the seat hangs, as it were, in the side panels.
The sofa was produced in 1990 and renovated in 2005 (foam padding replaced and reupholstered with Kvadrat Tonus 3 fabric in color 609. Included is the loose armrest BA02 covered in fabric Tinta, yellow 420.
Dimensions sofa: 192 x 82 x 70 cm WxDxH / seat height 40 cm
Sofa bed dimensions: 192 x 100 x 70 cm WxDxH / seat height 35 cm
Armrest dimensions: 30 x 31 (top) - 46 (bottom) x 21 cm BxDxH
Under the bench are 4 caps from Scratch-no-more to avoid any streaks on a smooth floor. It is wise to repair the webbing that is partially worn in not too long term (see photo detail).
The sofa is in fine condition, the upholstery is without stains and undamaged. As can be seen in the photo of the underside, the construction/suspension consists of braided webbing / c.q. elastic straps. In one place a webbing is partially torn in, so repair in this area is recommended. Photo of this detail is attached.
