The Van der Sluis Meubelen 540 sofa is a classic from the Vandersluis collection. The design is by Gijs van der Sluis and is a unique design from a bygone era. The sofa features a chromed square steel frame, and the seat and backrest are upholstered in wool.
By pulling the seat forward, the sofa can be transformed in an instant into a longer sofa (16cm longer) or a sofa bed. With a length of 190 cm, it is possible for three people to sit side by side on the sofa. Due to its compactness, the sofa is space-saving, and thanks to its clean lines, the Vandersluis 540 sofa is a “modern” classic in the world of the vintage industry.

This item is in good vintage condition, consistent with age. Visible in the photos is some minor damage in the black lacquer work on the back of one leg. Not visible is some very minor discoloration in the fabric seat. Of course we can always send you some additional pictures of this. Or you can always come and see the sofa if you wish. The folding and unfolding into a sofa bed works super smoothly. We have not seen this with the many BR02 and BR03 sofas we have sold before.
