A unique Italian Murano glass table lamp from the early 1980s, measuring 42 by 40 by 18 cm. This design, "Idra," for Leucos, is by Rosana Toso, a descendant of an old glassblowing family from Murano, Venice.
The technique she used is described as follows: "The technique used here is called Sommerso. It is composed of different layers of glass on top of each other to give the glass thickness and an illusion of depth. Murrines have been incorporated between each layer. They have been carefully placed to create an illusion of the globe flowing down from its top to the base, like a waterfall with its source on top of it."
