Product description
This exceptional chaise longue is based on the iconic Model 1096, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1933 and mass-produced by the Swiss company Embru in Rüti. The Italian metalworker and designer Anzelmo Aducci, with his Officina del Metallo, created a strictly limited (only 10 pieces) special edition based on the original Embru plans – technically and formally faithful to the historical model, yet reinterpreted with exquisite materials. The characteristic aluminum support strips are trimmed with dark gray full-grain leather, while the originally black lacquered armrests have been replaced by smoothly shaped elements of solid walnut. The result is an impressively precise, modern-looking reissue that respectfully expands upon Breuer's functional tubular steel aesthetic and forms a rare synthesis of Swiss modernism and Italian craftsmanship.
Condition: Very well maintained with only superficial signs of age and use on the leather and metal. The walnut wood displays a beautiful, warm patina. Completely stable, technically flawless.
