Inheritance depicts a quiet moment by the sea. An empty coastline stretches along the water as gentle waves gently lap the shore. The sky is light and open, with clouds slowly drifting across the horizon. There are no people, no bustle – only space, water, and air.
It is precisely this emptiness that forms the core of this painting. Sometimes it's the quiet places in the landscape that evoke the most emotion. A beach without footprints, a horizon without distractions, a place where you can be alone for a moment with the wind and the sound of the sea.
With Inheritance, artist Liane Kusters wanted to capture that still moment: a landscape where space, light, and silence converge. The result is a calm and contemplative seascape that exudes tranquility and invites you to pause for a moment.
This work was first exhibited at the Liane Kusters exhibition in August 2025.
