Magnificent and rare small white porcelain vase, from a high-quality limited edition produced between 1965 and 1980 by Sheffield - Haviland & Limoges for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, stamped on the base, and sold exclusively in the museum shop at that time. The design is inspired by an original Meissen vase from Germany, dating from 1715-1720, a period marking the beginning of European porcelain. It features a slender, quadrangular shape, a molded base, and exquisitely detailed relief decoration. The four sides alternate between two Baroque female masks and two high-relief floral and fruit motifs, typical of the early 18th-century Meissen style. The porcelain is a brilliant, pure white with a perfectly crisp decoration. A finely crafted museum piece, now quite rare.
20 cm high, approximately 8 cm wide. Mint condition, with a firing crack inside the neck, invisible from the outside and not affecting its structural integrity. Approximately 200-250g.
