A lovely little vintage painting from the 1950s-60s, original and unsigned. Landscape format, depicting a reclining nude woman, languid, on a red background within an abstract setting, possibly a forest, in shades of blue and green. The Fauvist/Post-Impressionist style is quite refined, with beautiful nuances of color in the background and skin.
Unframed, 41.2 x 33 cm, 4 mm thick. In good overall condition, with some minor signs of age, including slight wear to the edges and corners, particularly the upper corners. There are marks under the feet, vertical, and the original flesh-colored paint. Other minor signs of age may be present. Approximately 400g, no hanging hardware on the back. From a small lot of works by the same unidentified artist, with a singular and sensitive style, typical of the figurative modernism of the 1950s-60s.
