Small Chinese baluster vase in Canton porcelain dating from the 19th century.
This style of vase is part of a Chinese production with stereotyped decoration and form, manufactured in the kilns of Jingdezen and transported white to the port of Canton where local artists decorate them.
This unique model with its characteristic painted decoration on a white background alternates between a palace scene and nature scenes with plant and flower motifs. The solid backgrounds are in gold paint, and there are also barbotine elements on the neck. On each side is a gilded animal-shaped handle, and it stands on a carved wooden base with a stamp underneath.
It is in good condition, although there are a few traces of wear, notably on the top of the neck and on the base.
This small, highly decorative vase will bring harmony to your interior, and is also a collector's item.
