The Slack I floor lamp was designed in 1979 by the Dutch architect and designer Mart van Schijndel. This lamp was produced in small numbers in his own workshop, Martech, and each piece was handcrafted.
The lamp is made of off-white lacquered sheet steel and features an HQI gas discharge light source at the top. Designed as an uplighter, the lamp casts a soft, diffuse glow upwards, while the light shines subtly downwards through the open structure, accentuating the architectural silhouette of the workpiece. The starter is located in the base.
The lamp needs to be repainted.
During storage, the paint has peeled off at the bottom edge. No damage other than normal wear and tear.
