Singer side table
Assembled in my studio from the authentic base of an antique Singer sewing machine.
• The base: It is made of heavy cast iron. The iconic "Singer" logo is cast into the center of the frame.
• The treadle mechanism: At the bottom, you can see the foot pedal (the treadle) and on the right, the large wheel. This was used to power sewing machines by pedaling with your feet, long before electric motors.
• The top: Originally, this had a wooden top on which the sewing machine was mounted (often with drawers on the sides). A sleek wooden top has been placed on the frame, making it a distinctive side table, desk, or decorative table.
