Whether you're a lover of the art of the table or an amateur of the art of the table, you'll love this silver-plated metal samovar, the late 19th-century work of silversmith Armand Frénais! A famous Parisian silversmith of the late XIXᵉ century, this piece is unique and of unparalleled quality: it is finely hand-engraved with stylistic decorations borrowed from the Baroque movement with acanthus leaves and other vegetation, mixed with a sense of organic geometry, reminiscent of Art Nouveau before it even existed.
🤔 How does it work? 🤔
The samovar is a set that allows the pouring of tea at dinner parties, and snacks of great Russian salons. Set in the center of the table, the teapot rests on a richly crafted base with claw feet. Under the teapot is a candle, meant to be lit to prevent the tea from getting cold. The handles on the base are ingeniously designed to hold the teapot tilted, or upright, without having to dislodge the teapot from the base. However, it is necessary to remove the teapot to make the journey from the kitchen to the living room, as the handle is light and doesn't retain heat, so you won't burn your hand.
