Product description
A unique, large sculpture of a stylized seahorse/mythical creature, crafted from polyester resin.
The work is signed "Matius" and is highly characteristic of French decorative art from the 1960s and 1970s, with influences from Art Brut and Brutalism.
The sculpture has a powerful, organic form with expressive spines and relief. The amber/ochre base is accentuated with red inclusions, giving the object a strong sculptural and almost tribal character. A true statement piece.
