Discover this Imari porcelain plate with scalloped edges, adorned with a refined Japanese Art Nouveau decoration depicting various scenes of Japanese flora and fauna. It was created during the late Edo to Meiji period, at the end of the 19th century. Its authenticity and historic charm make it a unique piece.
Made from fine porcelain and decorated by hand, it is characteristic of the Imari style, with its soft blend of kiln blue, terracotta red and gilding, presenting an organic design inspired by Japanese nature. Designed to satisfy European demand for Asian porcelain and the desire for Japonism in the grand contemporary interiors of the late 19th century, this Imari porcelain plate is entirely handmade and reflects the exceptional craftsmanship of Japan's 19th-century master ceramists.
