Discover this Imari porcelain soup plate with scalloped edges, signed with 4 characters and featuring a refined Japanese design depicting a deer by a lake. It was created during the late Edo to Meiji period, at the end of the 19th century. Its authenticity and historic charm make it a unique piece, ideal for collectors or lovers of traditional Asian art.
Made from fine porcelain and hand-decorated, it is characteristic of the Imari style, with its soft blend of kiln blue, terracotta red and gilding in a Japanese-style design. Designed to satisfy the European demand for Asian porcelain and the desire for Japonism in the grand contemporary interiors of the late 19th century, this Imari porcelain plate is entirely handmade and reflects the exceptional craftsmanship of Japan's 19th-century master ceramists.
