Large original lithograph by the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège of Dutch parents, founding member of the Cobra movement, after a drawing made at the Chelsea Hotel in New York. Total dimensions: 50 x 66 cm - 1992 Signed, titled and dated in graphite in the artist's hand Good condition - This copy has been pinned in the painter's studio - Pin holes in the corners, veils in the paper - Secure shipping with insurance by UPS Grand Master of color in the wake of Gauguin and Matisse, Guillaume Corneille creates a jovial world imbued with exoticism. A traveling artist, Corneille, thanks to his friend Alan Davie, crossed paths with David Hockney on the London scene. Both erudite painters, they share the same taste for color, the same sense of line simplification and the same constant winking at the art history of past centuries and at their own history.
