Magnificent small Chinese Qilin/Kylin, made of handcrafted polychrome enamelled Jiaozhi ceramic, entirely hand-decorated and bearing four seals on the base. Vintage from the 1960s-1980s. A very beautiful and particularly expressive representation, with an abundance of fine relief details and very vivid colors. The Qilin features a body covered with scales and flames, a prominent mane worked in volutes, an open mouth revealing fangs and tongue, and a long raised tail. It rests on a rectangular base richly decorated with scrolls and flowers, surrounded by various symbolic attributes and objects. A very beautiful and rather rare collector's item, sold with its original storage box in red and gold brocade fabric, fitted with clasps. 14cm maximum length at the base, 15cm maximum height, and 7cm maximum depth at the base. Very good overall condition, however, a small re-gluing accompanied by a small missing piece on the top of the mane is noted, quite discreet and possibly restorable. Approximately 500-600gr.
