King Gustav II Adolf commissioned the Dutch shipbuilder Henrik Hybertsson to build four warships in Stockholm in 1625, including the three-masted Vasa. The Wasa had 64 guns distributed over two decks and was 62 meters long, 11.50 meters wide, and 50 meters high. The ship was built for a crew of 435 men and weighed 1,200 tons.
