Product description
A rare early office version of Arne Jacobsen’s iconic Series 7 chair, produced by Fritz Hansen in Denmark in the 1960s. What makes this example particularly interesting is its original wheeled base – a much less common version of one of the most recognisable designs of 20th-century Scandinavian modernism. The elegant, sculptural silhouette of the Series 7 works beautifully with the black leather, giving the chair a sophisticated and timeless character. The chair has been professionally reupholstered in new black leather with new filling, while retaining its original vintage base. It is therefore not only an attractive collector’s piece, but also a comfortable and fully usable chair for a desk, home office or interior where a classic design piece can take centre stage. A beautiful combination of Danish modernism, functionality and understated elegance – and a far more unusual find than the standard Series 7 dining chair. Please note: the round cap underneath the seat was lost during restoration and is therefore missing.
