This seascape offers an iconic view of Mont Saint-Clair overlooking the moored boats. The artist's work is distinguished by a "divided brushstroke" technique and generous impasto, giving the water a striking sense of movement and luminosity. A true invitation to travel and contemplate the Mediterranean light. The work reflects the Sète painting tradition of the 1970s and 80s, a period during which the artist collaborated with the renowned Galerie Henri Portal. This painting bears the original label of the Galerie Henri Portal (Sète) on the back, a historic institution founded in 1886. Specializing in seascapes, the gallery was run by Henri Portal. The label features a drawing of the Sète breakwater and is surmounted by the famous line by Paul Valéry: "This tranquil roof, where doves walk..." Artist: V.
