Product description
Kokeshi craft is a centuries-old Japanese tradition.
It began around 1800 as a simple doll for every child. Each province in Japan has its own shape and/or painting.
These handmade, traditional Kokeshi date from around 1960-1970 and are signed on the bottom by the maker. They are in excellent condition considering their age.
The dimensions, from largest to smallest, are:
• 28 cm
• 18.5 cm
• 6 cm
• 4.5 cm. This one is a kind of matryoshka doll and contains four dolls.
Considering its vintage age, it is in very good condition. Of course, the paint has faded somewhat over the years and there are some scratches. Which, in my opinion, only adds to its charm.
