This set of two Peggy 63970 armchairs was designed by Umberto Asnago for the renowned Italian manufacturer Giorgetti in the 1990s. The design is characterized by a striking high backrest and an architectural wooden frame that bears the designer's signature.
The chairs are crafted with a solid wood frame, finished in a dark shade that forms a strong contrast with the upholstery. The seat, backrest, and accompanying lumbar cushions are upholstered in a soft, taupe-colored fabric, presumably velvet or a similar textile. The construction displays refined woodworking details, such as the visible joints and the carved elements in the backrest. The dimensions and proportions offer a generous seating experience, typical of luxurious Italian design from this period.
