These two life-size bronze heads exhibit a fantastic patina and are mounted on two granite steles, each 114 cm and 109 cm high, respectively. Both the sculptures and the steles are undamaged. The busts depict two men's heads with hairstyles that could indicate the Bauhaus period. This period is also confirmed by a photo album that presumably belonged to the artist of the busts and was acquired together with the two busts.
The photo album contains several original photographs from 1925 to 1928 from the studio of the Art Academy, with several references to the sculptor Georg Kolbe and the location of his master student's studio. The original owner of the album titled one of the photographs "Probezeit bei Prof. Georg Kolbe." Georg Kolbe was one of the most important and successful German sculptors of the early 20th century.
This suggests that the creator of these busts was a master student of Georg Kolbe.
