Product description
A striking set of six Trix armchairs, designed by Karl-Friedrich Förster for KFF Design in Germany in the late 1980s.
The chairs are characterized by their highly architectural construction, in which sleek, grey-finished steel frames are combined with warm-toned plywood seats and backrests. The open structure creates a powerful graphic silhouette, while the contrast between metal and wood gives the design a balanced and distinctly postmodern character.
Each chair features a slightly curved plywood seat and two separate vertical backrest slats, which are also subtly curved for added comfort. The wooden elements extend beyond the frame and are secured with visible dark screws, emphasizing the technical and functional character of the design.
Particularly striking is the folded, step-shaped metal element beneath the seat. This unusual structural detail connects the seat to the rear frame and gives the Trix chair its instantly recognizable profile. The square armrests extend directly into the front legs, forming a strong cubist line around the lighter central structure. The Trix chair, designed around 1988, reflects the experimental character of late twentieth-century German furniture design and combines functional construction with expressive geometry.
These sculptural chairs are offered as a complete set of six and are particularly suitable for a large dining or conference table. Together, they form a striking composition.
