This stunning set of rare vintage design armchairs instantly adds a lot of character to your interior!
The armchairs are a true eye-catcher and bear a strong resemblance to the iconic designs of the Norwegian designer Karl Edvard Korseth (known for the 'Satelitte' and 'Texas' models).
It is possible that these models were manufactured under license in the Netherlands.
The Great Norwegian Encyclopedia states:
'The most important Scandinavian exhibition of the 1950s was the H-55 Housing Exhibition in Helsingborg, Sweden, in 1955. Korseth was the architect responsible for the Norwegian exhibition. There, too, LK Hjelle exhibited several of his models, such as the Texas armchair and a wool sofa by Sellgren & Co. Korseth's Libra – book department for Aandal Møbler – attracted great interest, including from a Dutch company that wanted to acquire a license for it. That same company also wanted to negotiate for Texas.'
The chairs have been fully restored with an eye for detail:
New internals; Equipped with very high-quality cold foam for optimal comfort and a long lifespan.
Luxury upholstery: Covered in a beautiful, durable green bouclé fabric, giving the armchairs a contemporary and stylish look.
Perfect condition; The upholstery, internal structure, and teak frame have all been restored, bringing the set back to very good/like-new condition.
The armchairs combine the charm of the past with the comfort of the present.
