Product description
The CAB chair is one of the most iconic Italian design chairs of the late 20th century and is part of Cassina's renowned I Contemporanei collection. The design is notable for its innovative construction: a steel frame completely covered with a thick saddle leather jacket, which is pulled over the structure with a zipper, creating a sculptural yet comfortable seat.
This set is crafted from beautiful red saddle leather that has developed a rich, natural patina over time, highlighting the quality of the material and the craftsmanship of the piece. The leather shows attractive signs of age and use, typical of vintage pieces, giving the chairs a strong character.
These chairs are early production pieces. As confirmed by Cassina, furniture from this early period was generally unmarked, which is also the case with this set. The base still has the characteristic canvas base typical of early CAB chairs.
The CAB chair remains one of Mario Bellini's most recognizable designs and has become a true modern design classic.
