Exceptional set with authentic Belgian provenance. For sale: a rare and particularly characterful set of five original Gispen 2210 chairs, designed by Dutch designer André Cordemeyer for Gispen. The Gispen 2210 was originally designed in 1960 and grew into a recognizable example of Dutch post-war design. These five examples date from 1979 and feature the characteristic shaped cream/beige shell, brown upholstery, and elegant metal base. But what makes this set truly special is its provenance. Hailing from the former C&A boardroom in Kortrijk. These five chairs come from the boardroom of the former C&A building on Doorniksestraat in Kortrijk (Belgium). They were part of the interior of this distinctive C&A building until the store closed in 2019. As such, they are not only vintage designer furniture but also carry a beautiful piece of local corporate history. It is not every day you come across a set of five identical pieces with such a concrete provenance. Authentic vintage condition. The chairs have been preserved in their authentic vintage form and display the signs of use and patina that you would expect from original pieces of this age. The cream/beige shells are intact and the metal base is complete. The brown upholstery gives the chairs a warm, timeless look and complements the design of the shell particularly well.
