A rare set of five ‘Dora’ Moon Rock lamps by André Cazenave for Atelier A, France, 1960s. Produced by Atelier A—the first manufacturer of the celebrated Cazenave Moon Rocks—this complete set of five is exceptionally scarce and highly collectible. Designed in the 1960s, the iconic ‘Dora’ lamps exemplify Cazenave’s vision of merging sculpture with function and remain among the most recognizable examples of French Space Age lighting design.
The Atelier A editions are distinguished by their smoother surface finish compared to the later Tecta or Singleton productions, while retaining their iconic lunar texture and sculptural, otherworldly presence. Each lamp is handcrafted from epoxy and fiberglass and coated with mineral powder to achieve its characteristic stone-like appearance. No two pieces are identical, and most lamps in this set still retain their original Atelier A label on the underside.
The set is in very good vintage condition, with no cracks and only some minor spots consistent with age. A striking, atmospheric and increasingly rare example of 1960s French design at the crossroads of art, design and sculpture.
