A set of five beautiful polychrome earthenware plates from Sarreguemines, manufactured by U&C (Utzschneider & Cie), produced in the late 19th century (1875-1900). The historical decoration depicts various troops and periods of the French army (musketeers, infantry, cavalry, etc.), executed in brown transfer, hand-colored.
Diameter 21.5 cm, height between approximately 1 and 2.5 cm. In very good used condition; two are in perfect condition, one has a discreet chip on the rim, one has a very fine, barely noticeable hairline crack, and one has a subtle, through-crack. Natural crazing of the glaze and a natural patina. Approximately 250-300 grams each.
