Rare set of four "Jakob" swivel chairs designed by Chris Martin for IKEA in the early 2000s. A stunning Space Age-inspired design with clean, flowing lines. Each chair consists of a molded ABS plastic shell resting on a four-star metal base. The seat is fitted with a removable light gray fabric cushion, attached with Velcro straps (seat cushions in very good condition included). These chairs bear the manufacturer's and designer's mark under the seat. The set is in good overall condition, retaining its functionality and structural integrity. The swivel mechanism works perfectly. The original materials have a natural patina that reflects their history. The ABS plastic has developed a uniform yellowing patina over time and with exposure to light (visible in the photos - reversible). These swivel chairs fit easily into a home office or around a contemporary dining table. Their clean design perfectly complements a modern or Scandinavian-style interior.
