Magnificent and rare set of four antique low chairs (nursery chairs) dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, in the pure Napoleon III/neoclassical style. Their turned wood frames are stained a deep black, offering a sublime graphic contrast with the natural color of the seats. The elegantly curved backrest provides excellent support and lends a very airy line to the whole. The true value of this set lies in its exceptional state of preservation: all four seats feature their original traditional caning in perfect condition, taut and taut, without a single broken or sagging strand.
