A set of four dining chairs designed by Otto Prutscher for Thonet, dating to around 1915. Prutscher, a leading figure of the Vienna Secession and a member of the Wiener Werkstätte, was known for merging artistic precision with the technical innovation of early 20th-century furniture design.
These chairs showcase the refined craftsmanship of Thonet’s Austrian production, featuring a slender wooden frame, subtly curved backrest, and harmonious proportions. Their restrained geometry reflects the transition from Art Nouveau to early modernist design ideals.
The set remains in original condition, well-preserved with light traces of age that underline its authenticity and provenance.
