A set of three minimalist nesting tables designed by Martin Visser for the Dutch manufacturer 't Spectrum. These tables are a beautiful example of functional Dutch modernism from the 1960s.
The design stands out for its sleek and architectural form. The tables have square white Formica tops that rest on a sleek white metal frame. The slight distance between the top and the frame creates a subtle floating effect. The design is simple, practical, and timeless – precisely the design philosophy for which Martin Visser is known.
The three tables nest neatly one underneath the other. This allows them to take up little space and allows for flexible use. Together, they form a compact coffee table. Separately, they work perfectly as side tables next to a sofa or lounge chair.
Thanks to the combination of white Formica and metal, these tables fit well in a variety of interiors. They combine particularly well with warm materials such as teak, walnut, wool, or leather. They look great in both a mid-century interior and a modern minimalist interior.
Martin Visser played a significant role in the development of modern design in the Netherlands. As designer and art director at 't Spectrum, he collaborated with several innovative designers and helped establish the brand internationally. His designs are still prized today by collectors and design enthusiasts.
The tables are in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with their age.
