Charming set of three antique bentwood chairs, presumably manufactured around 1900. The elegant curved backrests, slender legs, and warm wood color give the chairs the recognizable look of classic Viennese café chairs.
One chair is marked J. & J. Kohn, Wien–Austria. The other two chairs are unmarked, but complement the set beautifully in terms of shape, age, and appearance. Two chairs feature richly decorated wooden seats, and one chair has a neat woven cane seat.
Despite their refined and light appearance, the chairs are surprisingly comfortable. As a result, they are not only decorative but also highly suitable for use at a dining table, desk, or in an atmospheric hospitality establishment.
The chairs are in authentic antique condition, with a beautiful weathered patina and signs of wear consistent with their age. The three chairs are not completely identical, which actually gives the set a playful and characterful look.
