Set of 2 Vintage Catalan Ceramic Wall Plates with Fish Motif (La Bisbal, ca. 1960) A set of two handmade and hand-painted ceramic wall plates from the mid-century period (circa 1960). These characteristic plates were manufactured in the renowned pottery center of La Bisbal d'Empordà in Catalonia, Spain (in the recognizable style of workshops such as Puigdemont). Features per plate: Plate 1 (Green fish): Diameter of 25 cm. Decorated with a large, stylized green fish with black contour lines. The reverse side is glazed cream-white. Plate 2 (Yellow/blue fish): Diameter of 28 cm. Richer decoration with an ochre-yellow fish head, blue fins, and stylized aquatic plants in the background. The reverse side is glazed honey-brown. Condition and details: Condition: Very good vintage condition. The front sides are bright in color and display the signs of age typical of this type of pottery. Hanging system: Both plates feature the original, authentic iron hanging wire on the back, which is secured in the foot ring. Marking: In keeping with the tradition of much studio pottery from this specific region and period, the plates are not signed or stamped, but are immediately recognizable by their handcrafted style and type of clay. The plates are sold exclusively as a set of two.
