The 'staatsmijnen' (translated: state mines) chair was designed by Rob Parry and Emile Truijen in 1955.
Dutch designer Rob Parry was a pupil of Gerrit Rietveld and soon started his own design studio with Emile Truijen. With Emile he designed a chair for Dutch State Mines (nowadays DSM), a state owned coal mining company.
We have a set of 2 chairs available with a solid steel frame and grey-blue leatherette upholstery.
These chairs are in a good condition, with signs of age and use. One chair has a tear at the edge of the seat. The upholstery is still securely attached.
Very collectible piece of Dutch design and also comfortable chairs to have!
Seat height: 46 cm.
