Beautiful pair of Mid-Century Modern bedside tables produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1970s. These tables were originally part of the iconic “Femina” bedroom suite manufactured by the renowned Bučovice furniture works, one of the important Czechoslovak producers of modern furniture during the postwar period. The Femina line became well known for its elegant functionalist forms, quality craftsmanship, and sophisticated combination of practicality and refined materials.
Designed in the spirit of European Functionalism, the bedside tables feature clean geometric lines enriched by beautifully executed wood detailing. Each piece is constructed as a compact square form with two practical drawers finished with clean white interiors. The original metal handles remain intact, adding authentic vintage character to the design.
The tables showcase exceptional craftsmanship throughout, with warm mahogany veneer applied to the sides, drawer fronts, and top surfaces. The tops are finished in a high-gloss shellac polish that beautifully highlights the depth and richness of the wood grain while giving the pieces an elegant, luxurious appearance.
Both bedside tables remain in beautifully preserved original condition with only minor signs of wear consistent with age and careful use. Original manufacturer labels are still partially visible on the reverse side, further confirming their authenticity and provenance.
An elegant and collectible pair of Czechoslovak Mid-Century pieces, ideal for modernist, Scandinavian, vintage, or eclectic interiors.
