This set of two restored Bauhaus armchairs was designed by Mart Stam and manufactured by Slezak in the Czech Republic during the 1930s. The design is characterised by its canonical cantilevered silhouette, a hallmark of early modernist furniture that remains highly desirable today. The chairs are constructed with a continuous tubular chrome frame that supports the seat, backrest, and armrests. The seating surfaces and armrest caps are crafted from shaped wood, finished in a rich brown tone that contrasts with the polished silver of the metalwork.
