A refined pair of Italian lounge chairs, attributed to Carlo Santi for Arflex, model Carmina, designed around 1976 and documented in Domus no. 561 (August 1976).
The design combines a black-stained solid ash frame with a floating canvas seat and removable orange linen cushions, creating a striking balance between structure and comfort.
The contrast between the dark geometric frame and the vibrant, soft upholstery evokes the refined warmth characteristic of Italian modernism of the late 1970s.
These chairs represent the transition of that era to more human, tactile modernist forms, where precision and craftsmanship blend with playful colors and organic textures.
Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition and show only minor signs of wear consistent with careful use. The cushions have been refreshed and still feel firm and comfortable.
