Exceptional pair of large Italian 'Prisma' Table lamps, manufactured around 2000. The monumental luminaires combine solid, faceted marble bases in intense lapis lazuli blue with gold-colored metal elements and widely flared hemispherical shades made of white opal glass.
Particularly striking is the strictly geometric architecture of the lamps: The tall, upward-tapering marble bodies form a strong contrast to the soft curves of the opal white shades. Gold-colored veins in the deep blue stone and the shiny metal accents also give the design a luxurious Art Deco Revival touch.
With a height of approximately 52 cm and a weight of about 4 kg per lamp, the pair has a remarkably strong spatial presence. An impressive example of Italian Postmodern design for sideboards, bedside tables, consoles or as a symmetrical statement pair in a generous interior.
