Beautiful set of two traditional Chinese Official’s Hat armchairs, also known as Yoke-Back chairs. A particularly elegant design featuring a high, slightly curved back, a wide central backrest, and gracefully shaped armrests. The characteristic upward-sloping ends of the top rail, in particular, give the chairs their recognizable Chinese silhouette. Crafted from warm-colored solid wood with a beautiful visible grain. The slender construction and flowing lines are based on the classic Chinese Ming furniture tradition. This type of design has been used for centuries and, precisely because of its simple, sculptural form, is also very beautiful in a modern interior. The chairs are vintage and in good used condition with normal signs of wear and age appropriate for their age. Please see the photos for details.
