Cassina Aspen designer sofas – mirrored pair, Jean-Marie Massaud The backrest of this sofa touches the seat at only one point and then tapers until it completely dissolves into the chrome sled frame underneath. As a result, the sofa appears light despite its length, and it does not need to be placed against a wall: the back is finished in the same way as the front. This is a mirrored set of two: on one sofa, the backrest extends to the left, on the other to the right. Together, they form a symmetrical arrangement, facing each other or on either side of a table or fireplace. The chrome-plated steel sled frame lifts the sofa a few centimeters above the floor. This creates the floating effect for which this design is known, and there are no legs in the way when cleaning. Jean-Marie Massaud designed the Aspen in 2005 for Cassina. The model is still part of the current Cassina collection, nowadays mainly in a shorter size and as a contract version. These two units are the original, longer three-seater version from the first production period. Condition: Excellent Pick up only. Delivery may be possible in consultation at an additional cost.
