Set of 2 brutalist wall / floor lamps, 1980s The Netherlands. This unique set of wall-mounted floor lamps was handmade by Rotterdam-based artist Cor van Roon. The previous owner commissioned the pair after seeing similar lamps in a restaurant and contacting the maker through the venue. Cor van Roon created this specific set especially for them. The lamps have a somewhat naïve, hand-crafted character with a strong brutalist influence, and a form that could even be described as slightly medieval. Each lamp features a slim black metal structure with an upward-facing shade that casts soft light onto the wall. They are designed to be mounted to the wall and can either rest on the floor or hang fully suspended, depending on preference and installation. A distinctive and sculptural lighting set that works well in minimalist, brutalist, or eclectic interiors. Both lamps are fitted with an E14 socket and have recently been rewired with new electrical cables, each including a plug and switch. Both pieces are signed by the maker and remain in good vintage condition, with minor wear consistent with age and handmade production.
