This set consists of a fold-out dining table and four chairs from the Swiss manufacturer Girsberger, a renowned furniture producer with a long tradition. The chairs bear the model number 9364 and were designed by Fritz Makiol in 1973. They were produced between 1974 and 1988, making them characteristic representatives of Swiss furniture design from the 1970s.
The chairs are made of dark-stained solid wood and are characterized by a clear, straightforward design language. The striking, angular profile of the legs is complemented by a slightly curved backrest that provides stable support. The seats are covered with a striped upholstery fabric, whose interplay of red, green and gold adds a homely accent to the functional, architectural character of the frame.
The matching table is also made of dark-stained wood and has a practical folding mechanism. The folding table tops allow the usable surface to be quickly enlarged, transforming the furniture from a compact everyday table into a family table. The construction is solid, the underframe solution simple and functional.
