Product description
A ceramic serving dish for everyday use, decorated with lilies of the valley and small flowers. An authentic example of Piedmontese folk pottery from the period. The production of Vedova Besio e Figli of Mondovì is highly regarded for its quality and for its representation of the history of Italian production during that period. Estimated date: circa 1880-1895. The dark, heraldic stamp, accompanied by the inscription "VEDOVA BESIO E FIGLI" (Voyeur Besio and Sons), is the historic trademark of this factory. The company has very ancient origins, dating back to 1842. The name "Vedova Besio e Figli" was adopted after the death of the original founder. Dimensions: 37 x 29 cm, weight 1 kg. Good condition, some chipping on the rim. Vedova Besio e Figli, along with other factories such as Richard-Ginori's in Mondovì, is considered a fundamental part of the Mondovì ceramic tradition.
