An elegant covered vegetable dish in genuine French porcelain, bearing the SEP France Sélection stamp under its base, a mark found on French dinner sets from the second half of the 20th century. With its low and wide-open form, this is indeed a covered vegetable dish, not a soup tureen. A piece intended to be placed at the center of the table and to accompany those services where each element still had its function and contributed to the elegance of the meal. The white porcelain presents a beautiful line, generous without being massive. The two openwork handles harmoniously extend the lines of the body, while the slightly domed lid is topped with a sculpted finial featuring vegetal curves. The decoration subtly plays with a garland of silver-grey foliage, accompanied by silver bands that highlight the contours, handles, and lid finial. A delicate composition, typical of this period when French tableware evolved towards greater simplicity while retaining the refinement inherited from great porcelain traditions. The "Véritable Porcelaine – SEP – France – Sélection" stamp links the piece to French SEP productions, of which various elements of dinner services are found today, including platters, plates, sauce boats, and vegetable dishes.
