Belgium / 1970 / coffee table / Pia Manu / metal, stone, marble / Mid-Century / Vintage / Brutalist Rare post-modern sculptural Pia Manu table, handmade in Belgium in the 1970s. This stunning table features an asymmetric table top crafted from a large natural marble stone in blue and light pink and a metal stone-textured plate. The stone rests on four cylindrical steel legs. Signed at the bottom. The blue patterns of the natural stone gives the table an exclusive, calm and Mediterranean look. Pia Manu is a workshop from Ingelmunster, Belgium. Here, amongst others, Jules Dewaele and his son Koen Dewaele designed several design pieces during the 1960s. Pia Manu is still working along similar lines, with natural materials such as stone and travertine combined with ceramics.
