Product description
A striking example of mid-century Czech craftsmanship, this sculptural beech and rattan armchair with matching footstool was produced by ÚĽUV (Ústředí lidové umělecké výroby) in the 1960s. Known for its unique blend of traditional handcraft and modernist design principles, ÚĽUV created furniture that emphasized natural materials, structural clarity, and everyday functionality.
This set showcases a solid beech frame with expressive angular joinery, paired with a woven rattan backrest and upholstered seat cushions. The design unites folk sensibility with geometric modernist lines, resulting in a piece that is warm, sculptural, and unmistakable.
