Some porcelains pass through the decades without losing an ounce of their elegance. This coffee pot from the Schumann Bavaria factory is a perfect illustration of this. With its slender silhouette, finely elongated spout, delicately curved handle, and Rococo-inspired reliefs, it evokes the grand tables where coffee gracefully concluded celebratory meals. Founded in Arzberg, Bavaria, at the end of the 19th century, the Schumann factory established itself as one of the great names in German porcelain. Renowned for the fineness of its body and the quality of its decorations, it exported its creations throughout Europe and to the United States from the 1920s onwards. Between the 1930s and 1950s, its elegant coffee sets achieved great success and embodied the art of entertaining at its finest. This coffee pot belongs to that period when every detail mattered. Its decoration consists of delicate garlands of polychrome flowers, finely painted, which seem to run all around the belly. The molded reliefs subtly play with the light, while the gold lines discreetly highlight each contour, adding just the right touch of preciousness without ever overwhelming the whole. Height approximately 24 cm. In very good condition, with its original lid. The porcelain is sound, with no cracks or chips observed, and the gilding remains well preserved despite time. A refined piece, ideal for completing a Schumann set or for giving a beautiful antique porcelain the place it deserves.
