A large Scheurich Keramik 485-45 from West Germany, executed in the beloved Amsterdam / Onion decor.
This is West German Art Pottery with full presence. Large, glossy, graphic, and delightfully retro chic. The vase has exactly that 70s vibe that collectors and interior designers respond to: color, shape, relief, and character.
The color is insane. Deep high-gloss red with warm orange-red shades, dark accents, and a deep dark interior. The glaze comes alive beautifully in the light and gives the vase a luxurious, almost sensual appearance. Classy, retro, and with plenty of sex appeal.
The relief decor gives the vase extra depth. The repeating Amsterdam / Onion shapes run powerfully across the tall cylindrical form. The large handle makes the design even more pronounced and gives the vase a sculptural line.
