This Scailmont vase, designed by Henri Heemskerk in the Luxor model, is a representative example of European glass design from the Art Deco period. The design is characterized by an elegant, flared shape and a warm amber tint that subtly catches and reflects light.
Crafted from glass, the vase displays a refined interplay of textures. The top features flowing, vertical ribs, while the base is decorated with a geometric, diamond-shaped relief pattern. The underside bears the inscription 'Fait en Belgique', confirming the piece's origin and authenticity. The Scailmont factory had a long partnership with Val-Saint-Lambert and Boch Frères.
The vase is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The glass has retained its original luster, and the textured details remain sharply defined.
This object adds a touch of vintage character to various interiors. The warm color palette and geometric details make it a fitting accent in both a Mid-Century Modern and an eclectically decorated space.
